Bulan puasa Ramahdan

Ich habe euch ja noch garnicht vom Fastenmonat (Bulan puasa) erzählt. Nun, Merkmal Nummer 1: Es gibt weniger Auswahl an Essen. Die ausgesprochen kompetente Dame vom DAAD, die hier Deutsch unterrichtet, behauptet zwar, es würde auf dem ganzen Campus nichts zu essen geben – aber das erwies sich als genau so war wie ihre Wahrung, dass der Campus ab 24Uhr komplett abgeriegelt ist und man nicht raus und rein kann. Laut Mei May klettern die Studenten Nachts über die Mauer oder nehmen das hintere – immer geöffnete ‑ Tor. Denn hiesige Studenten sind extrem nachtaktiv.Wie gesagt, die malayischen Essenstände sind alle geschlossen. Aber es gibt ja noch die Inder und unheimlich viele Chinesen. Und deren Essen.Ab 16Uhr entstanden überall irgendwelche Essenstände aus dem Nichts, an welchen man die ganze Vielfalt der malayischen Snacks und traditionellen Gerichte kaufen kann. Mit Mei May – der Name sagts, chinesischer Abstammung – habe ich die Stände erkundet und das abendliche Restaurantangebot.Allerdings mussten wir auch das Essen meistens genau so lange warten wie die Muslime. Fastenbrechen ist erst nach 7.

I still haven't told you about the month of fasting (Bulan Puasa). Well, characteristic number 1: There is less selection of food. The very competent lady from the DAAD who teaches German over here, claims that there would be no food on the whole campus - but that proved to be exactly as correct as her preservation that the campus will be completely closed after 11.59pm. According to Mei May, the students climb over the wall at night or take the - always open – gate behind the campus. Because local students are extremely night active. As I said, the Malay food courts are all closed. But there are still many Indians and Chinese. And their food. After 4pm form no where food stands a growing up like moshrooms in the rain and if you want you can try the whole diversity of the Malay traditional snacks and meals. With Mei May - the name says, of Chinese orgin - I explored the stands and the evening restaurants. However, we also had to wait the food just as long as the Muslims. Fast break is after 7pm
